A German DaaS platform from Hamburg — an option for smaller companies and the DACH region where GDPR compliance and a European vendor matter more than the deepest Microsoft integration.
What is oneClick?
oneClick is a German DaaS platform that delivers Windows applications and desktops through the browser — without the user installing any local client. A browser is enough.
Technically agnostic: oneClick can deliver Windows and Linux workloads on any back end — Microsoft Azure, AWS, Google Cloud, but also German and European providers such as IONOS, Open Telekom Cloud or STACKIT. That makes it particularly interesting for organisations with strict data protection requirements.
An important difference from AVD and Citrix: oneClick is a broker with its own control plane. The functions overview lists a cloud control plane, automated provisioning across twelve cloud platforms, autoscaling and the automatic replacement of failed servers. The capacity itself sits with the respective cloud provider, not with oneClick.
DACH background & sovereignty
What distinguishes oneClick from the large US players:
- Headquarters in Hamburg — a German GmbH, German law, German-language support
- Built for European data protection requirements — from the outset, not retrofitted
- A vendor based in Europe — the contracting party and legal recourse are in Germany
- Deutscher Sprach-Support — Dokumentation, Helpdesk, Vertrieb alle Deutsch
- Flexible Cloud-Wahl — workloads can run at a German hoster, though they need not
This matters particularly for public bodies, defence, healthcare and critical infrastructure operators that have to demonstrate their data is processed within the EU or the DACH region.
Architecture: the broker concept
oneClick follows a lean three-layer model:

The user opens the oneClick portal in a browser, picks an application or desktop from a tiled overview, and the session is routed from the browser to the corresponding VM through an HTML5 gateway. No local software, no firewall configuration on the device.

oneClick is one of the few DaaS solutions that genuinely supports both the major hyperscalers and regional hosters:

That makes oneClick a versatile choice for organisations working with data of differing sensitivity: less sensitive workloads on Azure, highly sensitive ones on IONOS, legacy systems on-premises — all reachable through one portal.
Preismodell: Pay-per-User
oneClick uses a simple pricing model — the oneClick licence comes on top of the Azure and RDS costs:

A cost example: 100 users with RDS on IONOS
- oneClick Professional: 100 × 9 € = 900 €/Monat
- IONOS VMs (2× 8vCPU RDSH): ~500 €/Monat
- Windows Server Lizenzen + RDS CALs: ~2.000 €/Monat
- Gesamt: ~3.400 €/Monat = ~34 €/User/Monat
For comparison: plain AVD with multi-session would come to around €15 to €20 per user per month — but without the European sovereignty and with the Microsoft licence requirement.

oneClick is not ideal when
- Deep Microsoft 365 integration is wanted — Conditional Access and Intune compliance for sessions
- Windows 11 Enterprise Multi-Session — oneClick uses Windows Server RDSH, not a client operating system
- Azure-first strategy — AVD is then the natural route
- Global enterprise deployments — oneClick does not have the global infrastructure of Citrix or AVD
